Story: The first performer of the song ‘‘Devojko, mari hubava/ You pretty, innocent girl‘‘is dr. Kostadin Durev. He was born in in the village of Shiroka Laka in 1919. The song ‘‘Devojko, mari hubava/ You pretty, innocent girl, pour me some wine to drink‘‘was recorded in 1955 by Durev. It immediately became melody of the year on the radio. The recording was made with the Orchestra of Radio Sofia, not with bagpipe, because his voice was higher than that of the pipe. Durev says that it is not his song, but one to the people, "I heard it from adults while I was making rounds in the Rhodope villages as a young doctor. I liked it and I learned it." The song ‘‘Devojko, mari hubava/ You pretty, innocent girl" interpreted by Durev is included in the compilation "Eternal Bulgaria Songs".
